Oxford Refugee Health Initiative brings together senior clinicians, researchers and medical students to support the health and psychosocial needs of newly arrived refugees and asylum-seekers in Oxford. We are funded by NHS England and initially piloted the project from 2016-2019.
In December 2021 we are resuming activities in Oxford and welcome current University of Oxford medical students to volunteer with this project. We look forward to meeting you!
Our aims are:
- To integrate the needs of the most vulnerable refugee populations in Oxford within the structure of local health service training and delivery
- To develop and pilot an enhanced primary care service for refugees alongside socio-cultural support
